Online Poker Tutorial: Overcome Tilt

 Online Poker Tutorial: Overcome Tilt

'Tilt' is one of the most dangerous mindsets you can possibly be in whilst playing online poker. It is when you lost the ability to think clearly, when you doubt yourself and when you stop making decisions rationally. Even the pros can suffer from tilt, the most notable being Phil Helmuth. With these 4 online poker tips, you'll have all the tools you need to overcome this negative mindset. The quicker you can overcome your tilt, the less money you will lose at the poker table.

Get up and take a break. This can be done whether you are in a cash game or poker tournament. Losing one or two blinds isn't nearly as costly as going on tilt and pushing all-in with a mediocre hand. If you've been playing online poker for some time, and you're starting to get stressed - just leave the room for a minute, go outside or do whatever calms you down.

Don't go on a vendetta. If a player he just beaten your pocket Aces with 2-7 off suite it's only natural to be annoyed. If you try to 'get him back' you will only either be playing hands you shouldn't be playing - or paying him off. Once a hand is over forget the result (especially if it's a bad beat), just play keep playing solid, tight-aggressive poker.

Move to another table. This should only be used as a last resort, no online poker player should be able to dictate what table you sit at. If they're using the poker chat to annoy you - you should just report them to the site customer services, you ARE a customer at the poker room and you should be able to enjoy your poker experience.

Stop playing for the day. If you really are feeling down, maybe you've lost some money or you should've won more - just turn the PC off and do something else. Too much online poker isn't good for anyone, your eyes can start hurting and you can ache from sitting down for too long. Take a walk or do some exercise knowing that tomorrow you'll be back to the top of game.

These 4 tips will help you overcome tilt at the poker table, giving you an advantage over your opposition. Try these tricks out at the best internet poker sites, you can use free no deposit poker bonuses to play for free - you can win big money from these freebies!

Understanding Texas Hold'Em Hands

Understanding Texas Hold'Em Hands
In the Texas Hold em there are 1326 possible combinations that can be played and most of the combinations have similar value, so they are not considered different for the purpose of the game. They can have a different value at flop but till then their value will remain the same. For example an A and a J of hearts have the same value as does an A and a J of spades. The non-equal starting hands in poker Hold'em are 196. These non-equal hands can have different shapes according to different areas that the poker is played in. most commonly they will fall under one of these categories are i) Paris, ii) Suited hands and iii) Off suit hands.
These three shapes are the most common ones and all the non equal hands are within these shapes. Each such hand will belong to any of these shapes. Now we will look at these hands in more detail as they need to be understood completely before proceeding to the low limit hold'em hands.
1. Paris: Paris is also commonly known as Pocket Paris. This shape contains the pairs which have the same rank cards. Both the cards will be of the same rank to be called the Paris.
2. Suited Hands: The suited hands are the ones which contain the different cards but they belong to the same suit. For example a hand having 6 and 4 of the hearts will fall in this category.
3. Off suit hands: the third and the final shape of the unequal hands is off suit hands. Off suit hands contain cards of different rank from different suit. The examples could be many. A 5 of hearts and a 9 of spades will make an off suit hand.
When you are a beginner and you are playing low limit poker, then you will have to deal with different categories of the hands. The most used and known categories are:
Big Paris: Big Paris means a top or over pair. This position is checked after the flop. If the pair that you hold is bigger than the flop, then you have a big Paris in your hands. Big Paris is a great hand and it enables you to win the game easily. When you have a big Paris, all you need to do is to force others to make it as costly as possible. This will help you to get high stakes in the game.
Draws: Draws are not the hands which are over pair. They actually need the cards to improve the position.
Milking hand: A milking hand will have a combination which contains nuts or two pair. Even the hand which is better than the two pair will be called the milking hands. It is rare and even the big Paris has more probability.
